Sweet potatoes, AKA Yams are identified by there elongated shape with pointed ends. This root will have smooth, orange-brownish skin. The Beauregard or jewel type variety will have a brilliant orange flesh and be solid and dense. #2 sweet potatoes will have some rough or blemished skins and may be miss-shaped.
