Our rigorous safety standards are applied at every level of the supply chain from auditing suppliers, to daily testing of processed items, and finally, monitoring temperatures during shipping. Our commitment to food safety is a source of our great pride and we continuously invest in resources to protect our customers and ensure we deliver the safest produce possible.
Suppliers
As an example, all imported product from US growers must adhere to the following requirements:
Irrigation water must undergo yearly microbiological testing by an independent laboratory
Produce must be grown at a minimum distance from sources of animal waste
Fertilizers cannot contain raw manure and compost must be certified to be free of E.coli 0157:H7
Produce must be refrigerated within 2 hours of harvesting
All produce is inspected upon arrival
Processing
There is no compromising when it comes to food safety. Our full-time quality assurance team monitors the production process from the moment produce arrives to the time of shipping. Transportation and quality assurance department
Bamford stricly follows very high shipping safety standards. Every truck is cleaned and inspected before each shipment and trailers are pre-cooled before produce is loaded. During transport, trailer temperatures are monitored electronically in real-time for review by our transportation and quality assurance department.
